metal post in water

I'm really not sure what this is ... it is at the overflow of a small reservoir at Shipley Glen. The dye works for Salts Mill in Saltaire used to be here.

Isn't this interesting! We have a dam near our home (we live on a river) and we fished something similar to this from out of the water. Our dam burst in the early 1900s so I bet our 'piece' came from there.

Yes that is interesting ... it is clearly something to do with a small weir. This is probably from the same period. This reservoir must have been built in the mid/late 19th C.
