This reminds me of the paintings done by Robert Bateman. I'd love to see this matted in a delicate green, picking up the colour of the moss.

Yes, I know what you mean but it could also look good perhaps in black and white - emphasising the shape, pattern and texture ...

I've just had a play in photoshop increasing the green and looking at black and white but neither were very successful. Perhaps someone else has better photoshop skills than me!
